The Resort Capital of the Philippines, or Calamba, is a famous stop for people who always crave for a little freestyle in the swimming pool. It is named after a legend wherein two guardia civils misheard a lady saying Kalan-Banga as Calamba. The city lies on the north of Mt. Makiling and is often termed as the gateway to the southern provinces because of its location in SLEX. The city also offers some historical sites, and also, it is the hometown of the national hero, Jose Rizal.
